Exercise: SuperMom
SqueezeItIn.com GirlsIt’s a bird… It’s a plane… It’s SuperMom! This exercise brings out your inner superhero while strengthening your lower back.

Release your inner superhero!
Lie on your stomach. Extend your arms out overhead and your legs straight out with toes touching the floor. Keep your core engaged (squeeze in your abs) throughout this exercise and remember to breath.
Raise your right arm and left leg a few inches off the floor. Hold position for a count of three (think: SQUEEZE-IT-IN to keep count), lower and lift the left arm/right leg. Your hips should not leave the floor and your head should stay aligned with your spine while you look directly at the floor.

Keep head down and core engaged.
Picking up the pace:
Once you are comfortable with the movement and have completed a few slow repetitions on each side, bring both arms and both legs off the floor. At a quicker pace resume alternating right arm/left leg and left arm/right leg as if you were swimming. Repeat until you have completed 1 set of 12. Do a second set of 12 if you are able.

You can do these on the bed before you get up, especially if you haven’t recently vacuumed the floor!
