Exercise: The TV Twist

SqueezeItIn.com Girls

Here’s our latest SqueezeItIn.com exercise to get you moving this Monday.  Here’s how to put a new twist on watching TV:

Smile not necessary, but why not?

Smile not necessary, but why not?

Sit on the floor or edge of your sofa on your “sits” bones.  Lean slightly back and pull your legs up off the ground with knees bent (refer to picture).  With hands placed gently behind your head, twist to bring your left elbow to the outside edge of your right knee. Switch and bring your right elbow to the outside edge of your left knee in a slow and controlled movement.

Keep that back straight!

Keep that back straight!

It’s important to keep your back straight:  Do not hunch over or lean too far back to avoid putting added pressure on your lower back.  Keep elbows up and out to the sides and do not pull down on your neck as you twist.

2 sets of 12 – if you can do it!  This is a challenge, but worth the whittled middle it will produce!  Always proceed at your own pace and consult a physician before starting any exercise program.
